Amy and Evan’s wedding was one for the record books! These two have amazing style, some incredible family, and are completely head over heels in love!
For their colors, Amy chose blush, burgundy, and ivory with greens mixed in. I don’t think their invitations could have gone more perfectly! The Bridesmaids wore flowing dresses by Alfred Angelo in a soft mauve color. Lace lovers will be experiencing some major dress-envy at the site of Amy’s incredible Maggie Sottero gown! I know I was! 😉 She paired her gown with BHLDN rose gold earrings and crystal belt.
The day was relaxed, creative, and romantic with lots of DIY touches. The ceremony took place in the amphitheater of Pokomoke State park as golden light streamed through the trees. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, I couldn’t have imagined a more intimate and beautiful setting. The Bridesmaids entered the clearing to the song Edelweiss – one of my absolute favorites!
Just after the ceremony, the Bridal party helped dig up a bottle of liquor they had buried at the site of the ceremony exactly 1 month prior. Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married it won’t rain on their wedding day. According to what I’ve read, this must be done exactly one month before the wedding, the bottle must be completely full, and it must be buried upside down to ensure maximum weather persuasion. Because of the bride’s Irish heritage, they buried a bottle of Jameson. I love how they included this tradition and made it their own.
The reception was held in Longbranch Studio. The art adorning the walls was a collaboration between Evan and his Dad. During their engagement, Evan and Amy DIY’ed much of the decor seen throughout the reception including table arrangements, vintage candelabras, and marque signage. The same “A & E” flower arrangement that was at their ceremony was moved to the wall behind the dance floor.
This September has been the most incredible wedding month! So full of unique and beautiful days with the coolest couples. I feel beyond blessed and so thankful to have this job!
