Making Informed Business Decisions

With so many voices, gurus, and experts out there telling you what your next business move should be, it can be overwhelming to say the least. You have to be careful with who you’re listening to and how many people you’re listening to.

In order to make more informed and better business decisions, there are a few things that Brooke recommends you review and do in order to do what’s best for you.

Set a Vision for Your Business

First things first, you need to have an ideal expectation for your business and life. In order to do this, you need to set a vision for what your ideal work week could look like in order to create the boundaries necessary to have that. This could change with the different seasons of life.

To do this, map out your ideal work week based on the clues that your life is giving you—how many days and hours do you want to work. Once it’s mapped out, set up those boundaries around that work week.

Set Your Goals and Work Backwards from Your Vision

In your business, you need to constantly be asking yourself, what should I be doing? To answer it, you have to be looking at your goals and working backwards from them.

You can get really practical by looking a year ahead from now, where do you want to be? What will need to happen in order for you to get where you want to be? Brain dump every single step it will take to get you there, then rearrange them based on what needs to happen first.

Automate & Outsource in Your Business

If you feel like you’re wasting time in your business working on things that you shouldn’t be—this can hinder your decision making skills. The next thing you need to do is automate or outsource these tasks. First look at what you can automate—you don’t have to reinvent the wheel each and every time. You can create templates, systems, and more to automate your business and life. For the things that can’t be automated, what can you outsource?

What To Do When You Lose Motivation

There will come a time when you’ve lost motivation or you’re burnt out in your business—if that’s you, this is your permission to take a break. Get outside of your house, go for a drive, take a walk—do something that relieves your brain from work.

Next, take a look at why you decided to do this business. What makes you happy? Is this business still right for you? Is it time for a pivot?

Advice for the Urgent Tasks

If you’re constantly feeling like everything is urgent in your business and you’re struggling to get it all done or decide what to do next, look at what has to get done. Every day, write down three tasks that have to get completed in order to have a successful day.
