Where did you find your team members?
I found each of my team members through different avenues. Here is a breakdown of who is on my team and how I got in contact with them:
- Virtual Assistant – Job application (through my own audience)
- SEO Expert – Industry recommendation
- Video Editor – Fiverr
- Podcast Producer – Friend recommendation
- Legal – Instagram search
- Financial – Instagram search
How do you learn to delegate?
The next question I got was how did I learn to delegate. While there is so much I can say here, I also want to highlight that I am still learning—it’s a process. From leading to communication, there is so much that goes into delegating.
Here are a few resources I highly recommend if you’re looking to delegate:
- Education on this topic through podcasts and books
- Buy Back Your Time book
- Hire a coach
Beyond those resources, I really think that trial and error is one of the best ways to grow and learn.
How do you manage running two business focuses?
First and foremost, if you’re going to have multiple focuses, you do probably need to have a team in place. I personally can’t run Photoboss or Called to Both without a team. While there are plenty of business built as solopreneurs, that simply didn’t work for me.
Beyond the team, you also need to have systems and strategies that support what you’re building. For me, this includes HoneyBook and Kajabi, both of which my business couldn’t run without.
Ultimately, the best advice I can give you is to have one focus at any given time. Don’t try to do it all, all the time. Beyond that, find overlap in your business.
