Four Steps to Selling Digital Products
In the world of diversifying revenue, selling digital products is a great option for creating a limitless opportunity in growing your revenue. If you’re ready to explore selling digital products, here are four steps you should take on your journey.
Grow Your Email List
The first step is to start growing your email list through a freebie or opt-in. Even if you don’t have a digital product to sell, growing your email list allows you to have a built-in audience for when it comes time for you to sell something in the future. If you’re curious on how you can get more visibility on your email sign up or opt-ins, make sure you check out my podcast page, where I’ve created a playlist of all things visibility.
Go Lean & Simple with Softwares
There are so many softwares out there for digital products, meaning it’s really easy to get shiny object syndrome. My recommendation is to go lean and simple in your choice so that you’re not overcomplicating the process. That’s why I chose Kajabi as my all-in-one platform for digital products, opt-ins, and courses.
Consider a Mini Course or Smaller Product
If I could go back to when I first started with digital products, I wish I would have started smaller. Either with a smaller product or a mini course of what I created, just to get started in the digital product space.
When you choose a big course or topic, it takes a long time to create—which means I had to overcome mental hurdles and push myself to actually work on it. It took me so long to get it out there and I didn’t even know if it would sell. I encourage you to take the concept you have and break it down and make it simpler.
Co-Create with Your Audience
The final step to creating your digital products is to take your audience along on the journey and co-create with them. Allow them to guide you in what you’re developing and what they want from you.
If you’re still looking for help in creating digital products for your business, shoot me a DM on Instagram and I’d love to chat! I’d love to share some options for working together to help you pivot to passive revenue streams and brainstorm your next digital product.
