Come with me behind-the-scenes as I photograph an engagement session at sunset on the beach! I love going behind-the-scenes cause it gives a real life perspective on shooting, how I pose my couples, different lighting scenarios, and so much more! In this video, you’ll have the opportunity to listen in as I direct my couple for their engagement session and see the final images along the real-life footage itself.
Engagement Session Behind The Scenes
For this shoot, I’m using my Nikon 35mm 1.4 lens. I start with loosening my couple up and have them do a couple of walking and dance poses together on the beach. From there, you have the option of doing a spin with them and then coming in for some closer portraits. These poses help me capture candid laughter and get the couple in their most natural state.
As you progress through the shoot, capture the candid moments throughout and then stop for some posed images where you can direct the couple. One of my favorite poses to do during this time too is a piggy back ride pose. This allows you to capture some fun and playful shots in addition to the posed and candid ones.
