Decide What You Want the Current Season to Look Like and Take Action

Before you can optimize your business to save time, you need to decide what you want this season of your life to look like. How many hours per week do you want to work? Do you want to invest in childcare, stay home with your kids, or both?

Deciding what you want your life to look like gives you something to strive toward. Instead of feeling stretched thin and like you aren’t effective in your business or parenthood, you set the terms.

The key is to remember that you’re only making a decision about this current season. Things change quickly when you have kids, from their needs to their nap schedules, and it’s important to stay flexible. For example, decide what you want your work-life balance to look like while your child is under six months old, and then reevaluate again.

Focus on Evergreen Offers With Occasional Promotion

Tip two is the key to generating income without having to work all the time. Instead of live launches, focus on products that are for sale all the time. You’ll take so much stress off yourself and your finances with this strategy because you’ll avoid the feast or famine cycle.

To make it work, you need to set up really solid funnels that generate consistent income for your business. Then, figure out a system that works for you to promote your evergreen products. A great way to boost sales is to offer short-term discounts and bonuses to incentivize fence-sitters. Trust me, you still need to talk about your evergreen offerings, even without a big launch!

Delegate and Let Some Things Slide

Motherhood can teach you so much about running a business. Since your time is limited, you learn how to prioritize what matters and delegate or let go of the rest. Your business becomes more efficient because you can’t obsess over every little detail anymore.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your business and motherhood, look at your daily, weekly, and monthly schedule. What do you have on your calendar that isn’t necessary? What can you delegate to someone else? What can you automate with a new business tool?

This tip may require an investment–either in a new team member or a paid automation tool. Remember that these expenses buy you more time with your family without sacrificing your business’s success.

Take Action to Optimize Your Business Today

Which one of these three tips resonated with you the most? I encourage you to go back over them and choose one that you can take action on today. Remember, it’s not about perfection. It’s about designing the life and business you want so you can prioritize what matters most.
